Adopt a Loving Border Collie

Thank you for taking an interest in our organization and this special breed!

Under All Dogs you will find all of our current fosters.  You can view their information and contact their foster parents by clicking on the name and sending an email.  You are more than welcome to email and ask questions, but you must be an approved adopter in order to meet the dogs.  The application process can take a couple of weeks to be completed and you are not guaranteed the dog that you are interested in.  We often get multiple applications for each of our dogs and choosing the new family is entirely up to the foster home.  This decision is made in the best interest of each individual dog and not based on the order in which an application arrives.  Click Here for the Adoption Page.

Next In Line are dogs that are currently being relinquished and are approved to come into our rescue. However, they have not yet been placed with an approved foster family and so they are not covered by our organization’s policies.  Any interest in these dogs is done so at your own risk.  Please view the guidelines before inquiring.

Happy Endings are all of our dogs that have made it to their final destinations with a new FUREVER home!  Take a look at all of the smiling faces that have made their journey through our ranks.

In order to adopt a dog from us, you must first submit an Adoption Application. To submit your application, you may apply online by clicking here. If you have any questions please email us at adoption@mwbcr.org.

Thank you for considering rescue first, and for opening your heart and home to a Border Collie in need.

Max

Age: 4.5 years old

Breed: Border Collie

Sex: Male

Weight: 40 lbs

Hi everybody!  My name is Max, and I am a 4.5-year-old neutered male border collie.  I was born on
12/13/2017 in Dubuque, Iowa.  My foster parents tell me I am a sweet boy and I have been with them since March 18, 2022.  I am a little hesitant or cautious at doing new things (new spaces, new places, etc.) at first but with patience, my foster parents and I get through this.  My foster parents tell me I am a fast learner and a good listener.  I like to play fetch with a tennis ball and spend time with my people.  I wear/use a harness to go on walks and my foster parents tell me that I am a good boy on walks on the leash.  I do not like loud or sudden noises.  I am somewhat protective of my home (space) and my people.  I ask that you introduce me slowly to new people and/or dogs coming into my home/space.  If necessary, I will need to go into another room until I get comfortable with new people and/or dogs. A physical fenced-in yard would be optimal if I get scared and try to run. I am good with children but will take food from them if they are within reach. My foster parents feed me separately, in my kennel so I can eat in peace.

Yukon

Age: 8 years old

Breed: Border Collie Mix

Sex: Male

Weight: 35-40 lbs

Hello there!  My name is Yukon, and I am an 8-year-old neutered male border collie. Through no fault of my own, I was returned to the care of Midwest Border Collie Rescue by my previous adopters after living with them for approximately 2 years.  My current foster parents tell me I am a sweet boy.  I have been with my current foster parents here in Northern Illinois since mid-February 2022.  I really like to hang out, play, and be with my people.  I do like to go on car rides, and I don’t bark or whine during the ride (Car rides are fun!).  I like when my foster parents play with me with my bark box toys.  I wear/use a harness to go on walks and my foster parents tell me that I am a good boy on walks on the leash.  I am somewhat protective of my home (space) and my people.  I ask that you introduce me slowly to new people and/or dogs coming into my home/space.  If necessary, I will need to go into another room until I get comfortable with new people and/or dogs.  My foster parents feed me separately, so I can eat in peace.
